I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I did chemical biology-focused research under Mark Distefano, where my primary project was the synthesis and characterization of two-photon photoactivatable protecting groups for the caging and subsequent release of thiols. At the University of Kentucky, I spent a period of time working for the Butterfield lab investigating mechanisms of chemotherapy induced cognitive impairment, as well the connection between Down Syndrome and Alzheimer’s pathologies. I currently work for the Glazer lab. For some of my current projects, I synthesize and characterize photosensitive ruthenium coordination complexes, develop solid-support based chemistries, computationally model proteins, and do confocal microscopy imaging. I am also the School Outreach coordinator for the 2020 Kentucky State Science Olympiad competition. I am happy to address any inquiries via my listed email.
