"Graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) have recently been widely studied for their interesting electronic properties. Unlike other graphene nanostructures such as carbon nanotubes or graphene sheets, GNRs exhibit a tunable band gap depending on width and edge structure. These properties can be adjusted by using different synthetic methods, including top-down and bottom-up approaches. GNRs can be used for a wide variety of applications, from use as drug delivery substrates to semiconducting materials in transistors. This talk will cover the basic structure and electronic properties of GNRs, prominent synthetic routes, and major applications, with a focus on transistors and organic electronic devices."
