The National Conference on Undergraduate Research will bring nearly 4,000 additional students from across the country to the UK campus where they will present their research and creative endeavors while meeting other like-minded students.

In 2009, the Virtual Observatory And Ecological Informatics System (VOEIS) project was launched. Funded by an NSF EPSCoR grant, VOEIS united researchers at five universities in Kentucky and two universities in Montana to research the consequences of environmental changes in freshwater ecosystems.

UK chemistry professor Susan Odom's student, Corrine “Nina” Elliott, attended the 244th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society in Philadelphia as an 18-year-old high school student planning to attend UK in the fall.

Four students from the University of Kentucky have been selected as recipients of Fulbright U.S. Student Program scholarships. The UK recipients are among 1,900 U.S. citizens who will travel abroad for the 2013-2014 academic year through the prestigious program.
