Born and raised in Italy, Giorgio obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Pavia (Italy), focusing on transition metal-ion complexes as luminescent and electrochemical anion sensors. After gaining extensive experience in the field of supramolecular chemistry at the University of Windsor (ON, Canada) through the design and synthesis of new mechanically-interlocked molecules, Giorgio joined Odom Research Group in February 2019: his current research is aimed at designing and synthesizing new organic redox-active materials for redox flow batteries, and exploring new methods to improve the stability and solubility thereof. Outside of the lab, Giorgio enjoys cycling, rock climbing, playing basketball, traveling, cooking, and watching The Office.
